Who We Are

Candy's Cats, Inc. (CCI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit Florida corporation whose goal is to make a determined effort within our community to educate our residents about the tragedy of "throwaway" kittens and cats.

We are a loosely connected group of volunteers from all walks of life who see a need to do whatever it takes to help these kittens and cats. We cannot walk away. At any given time, 6-30 volunteers foster anywhere from one to 20 cats. Some of the kittens come to us very sick or orphaned and the foster moms and dads wake every two - three hours to feed or to check on the kittens, to medicate, to comfort them.

For some, fostering is not possible so they come help out at the adoption centers on the weekends or bring other strengths to Candy's Cats, giving whatever time they can, be it 15 minutes a week or 24 hours a day. These kittens are not throwaways. Our volunteers give 100% of themselves to caring for these little lives, even if they grow into teen cats, or, come to us as adults from the beginning.

Our funding comes primarily through donations from folks who support what we do and want to help us to make a difference. Our adoption donations don't cover our basic costs. All cats are provided with basic medical care, including but not limited to, spay/neuter, parasite control, vaccinations, microchip, and tests for feline aids/feline leukemia/heartworm. Any emergency care, surgery or long term treatment is provided so that all of our cats achieve optimum health prior to adoption.
