March 24, 2007 We love you Isis!!! Mom and Dad (Trisha and Steve)
Prada
Prada is at peace now. Her early life had been so turbulent however, when she came to CCI, the neighborhood boys were trying to stomp her siblings and her to death - they succeeded with one sibling. She was so covered with fleas and scabs from them, no one took her picture. After her brother died, she went to Mommy Linda and Pam, so they could nurse herto health. Through many days of hand-feeding, medicating, being rushed to the vet, Linda, with Pam, giving Prada round the clock care, helped Prada survived the fluid build up in her lungs and she enjoyed a few weeks of frolicking, running around her safe room and playing with Lion King and Gucci. Unfortunately, following surgery which she came through fine, she had an allergic reaction to the rabies vaccination and sucuumbed to it on December 22, 2005. Prada was not quite 4 mos. old but touched each of us in a special way because she fought so hard to make it, going from a feral, scared kitten to a lover at her end. God speed, Prada.
Little One
Little One was seen on December 2, 2005 around 9 p.m. by Marci Elliott, one of our best supporters. Disturbed by his messy bottom, she rescued him, brought him home and on Friday took him in to Dr. Larkins. Little One was very sick with hook and roundworms as well as coccidia - at one point, Dr. Larkins thought he was going to die. After a week at Dr. Larkins, he came home with Linda and Pam, and despite all of their valiant efforts, Little One went to the Bridge on December 9, 2005, with Pam holding him in her arms. Had Marci not interceded in his short life, he would have been outside somewhere in the rain, cold, starving and alone. While our hearts are sad for Linda and Pam and their experiencing the loss of Little One, he died feeling loved and cared for - and not alone. Thank you, Linda, Pam, for your valiant efforts. See you someday, Little One - tell Chance and Tommy we said hi.
Tommy
Tommy Trucker...born in the back of an 18-wheeler...his mom disappeared and Tammie became his mom and he, her first bottle baby. Tommy went everywhere with Tammie (who is a truck driver) - down to Palm Beach, Stuart, church, you name it, Tommy was there, until Gayle met him and fell in love with him. Gayle pre-adopted him, she and her family have loved Tommy and he, them, until October 20th, when during surgery his heart failed. Despite the vet's heroic efforts to save Tommy, he went to the Bridge at 2 a.m. Tommicito, we all loved you - you will be missed until we see you again.
Chance
June 19, 2005 was one of those rainy, dreary nights in Orlando when Chrystal got the emergency phone call; a tiny kitten with his umbilical cord still intact was found abandoned on the sidewalk. Chrystal brought Chance to our care and we placed him on our feral momma kitty, who had already successfully nursed other orphans. We were so excited when his eyes opened a few days after he came into our care. He tried valiantly to walk and did manage to move around his enclosure. He played with his adopted siblings, and nursed on his surrogate momma. However, despite his brave efforts to survive, our Chance went to the Rainbow Bridge on June 24, 2005. We'll see you again, our little man, on the other side. Click a letter to find an animal or view all.
