Tabby / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) : : Male (neutered) : : Baby
Because of the difficulty getting appointments to get our rescue cats altered in a timely manner, we recently launched our pre-spay/neuter adoption program. The cat you are interested in may be part of this program and will have at least it’s first FVRCP vaccine, a microchip registered to us and will have been treated for internal and external parasites. Please fill out our screening form and after reviewing and confirming your information, our adoption counselor will reach out to you to explain the process.
Aloha! My name is Maui and I was found in a neighborhood with my mother and sisters. We were very scared at first, living outdoors running from the afternoon thunderstorms when I was just a baby! My mother was a feral cat, and she was fixed and returned to where she was found, but my rescuers gave me hope because I make great eye contact and ate food from the rescuers hands right away...this shows I can trust. I know it's not all "rosey" adopting a kitten who is still learning to trust, but I am so handsome that I know I will turn heads! I hiss a little when I am approached, but I will let you pet me, and I'll relax pretty quickly. My hissing is all "bark" and no bite... I don't want to hurt you, I just want to make sure you won't hurt me! I'm pretty independent and can be adopted on my own, but I do think a family that understands cats will be better for me. My foster family will keep playing with me (I like balls, especially ones that make high pitched noises!) and they have noticed I really like to watch a feather toy but I conserve my energy, I don't go for my prey on the first jump! I'm smart like that! I hope you might give me a chance because I am a very cool little boy with lots of potential. I would love to join your "ohana" aka your family!
Thank you for your interest in one of our adoptable kitties. All of our kitties are fully vetted (age-appropriate vaccines, spayed, tested for feline leukemia and feline aids, and they are microchipped.) They live in private foster homes with their foster families. Our adoption fees are $75 - $125. In order to match the best home for our foster kitties, we ask folks to complete our adoption application in advance; simply go to www.candyscats.org/forms. You will need to register on our site, then fill out an Adoption Application. We'll review your information and get back in touch with you. Cats are not adopted first-come, first-served, but rather the best home for the kitty, but we do give consideration to the folks who take the time to fill out the application in advance. Almost all of our volunteers work during the week; to be able to meet one of our cats by appointment during non-adoption days (Saturday, 11 - 4, Sunday 12 - 4), your application needs to be filled out in advance and approved by our adoption coordinator prior to scheduling an appointment to meet with the cats. Thank you once more for your interest in our wonderful cats; we hope we can find one that is the perfect fit for you and your home.
