Because of the difficulty getting appointments to get our rescue cats altered in a timely manner, we recently launched our pre-spay/neuter adoption program. The cat you are interested in may be part of this program and will have at least it’s first FVRCP vaccine, a microchip registered to us and will have been treated for internal and external parasites. Please fill out our screening form and after reviewing and confirming your information, our adoption counselor will reach out to you to explain the process.

You’ve heard the expression that everyone needs a little black dress…..well, Vail is dressed and ready to go!  She is our adorable black kitten who is looking for a forever home with her brother, Yukon.  (Please check out his bio, too!)  Black cats are often overlooked for adoption, but Vail and Yukon are hoping to change all of that.  After all, their two siblings were adopted quickly into a fantastic forever home.  You missed out on them, so here’s your chance!

Step aside, Rapunzel.  You’re not the only one with gorgeous locks! Introducing Vail and her elegant coat of shiny black hair!  She and her handsome brother, Yukon, are ready to go home and play with you.  Vail is a beautiful domestic shorthair cat and she loves to be petted.  She will talk to you, come to greet you, purr, and rub against you.  You’ve heard of people who are huggers?  Vail’s hug is a rub.  No doubt about it, you will know when she claims you!  Vail is very sweet and loves to be near her person.  She is bonded with her brother, Yukon, so they are looking to be adopted as a pair.
Vail enjoys surveying things up high, so a cat tree would be great.  She’ll also sleep behind you on the back of the sofa, too.  Vail will be shy at first, but be patient because she just needs time to acclimate to new surroundings.  Like her brother, Vail enjoys playing with toys.  She is curious and always likes to be the first to check out a toy that makes noise or moves.  Vail’s foster mom feels it would be best to be placed into an adult-only household with guardians who have the maturity not to chase her, but to let her come to you when she’s ready.  Vail can be picked up and held briefly, but for right now, she mainly prefers to keep her paws on the ground.  After all, that’s the best way to play with toys!
So what do you say?  Two sibling cats are great company for each other!  Vail has her black coat and Yukon is also ready for any black tie event. They are both confirming their R.S.V.P. with a big “yes” to go to their forever home….with you!

Thank you for your interest in one of our adoptable kitties. All of our kitties are fully vetted (age-appropriate vaccines, spayed, tested for feline leukemia and feline aids, and they are microchipped.) They live in private foster homes with their foster families. Our adoption fees are $75 - $120.

In order to match the best home for our foster kitties, we ask folks to complete our adoption application in advance; simply go to www.candyscats.org/forms. You will need to register on our site, and then fill out an Adoption Application. We'll review your information and get back in touch with you.

Cats are not adopted first-come, first-served, but rather the best home for the kitty, but we do give consideration to the folks who take the time to fill out the application in advance. Almost all of our volunteers work during the week; to be able to meet one of our cats by appointment during non-adoption days (Saturday, 11 - 4, Sunday 12 - 4), your application needs to be filled out in advance and approved by our adoption coordinator prior to scheduling an appointment to meet with the cats.
