Because of the difficulty getting appointments to get our rescue cats altered in a timely manner, we recently launched our pre-spay/neuter adoption program. The cat you are interested in may be part of this program and will have at least it’s first FVRCP vaccine, a microchip registered to us and will have been treated for internal and external parasites. Please fill out our screening form and after reviewing and confirming your information, our adoption counselor will reach out to you to explain the process. found covered in motor oil
Candy's Cats is not in the habit of pulling from shelters, believing there are many abandoned cats to rescue but Dawn tugged at our founder's heart strings and she couldn't leave her there for an inevitable outcome. Dawn is the sweetest kitty, but during her extended stay at the shelter, she developed an URI. She is going to the vet first thing to rule out kidney damage, and to have her leg checked in case there is an infection. Dawn is a super sweet and outgoing girl. She's a bit of a talker & gives kisses. She was found covered in motor oil & with a hurt leg. After being bathed in lots of Dawn dish soap and a month of love and care she is ready for her forever home. NOTES FROM OCAS: Meet Dawn ! This cutie was brought to us covered in motor oil. She is in need of rescue. Here are her medical notes: "Vet exam requested for motor oil in fur. Cat reported found in oil change facility. BAR, friendly. Dried oil in fur. Gave bath in Dawn dish soap, cat tolerated well. Reapplied Activyl after bath, 0.5mL topical once. Note mild amount hair came out in clumps during bath, suspect due to motor oil. Monitor, and repeat bath (ideally with gentle pet shampoo) in a few days if needed. LH/DVM 05/11/16 08:27 cat is BAR no food was taken over night had dry and wet this AM rounds when seen. Neeed recheck for appetite if not eating needs to be humanely euthanized as the oils could have cause internal damage specially the kidneys." Please let us know if anyone can take her and give her the care she deserves!!! To speed up the adoption process, please go to www.candyscats.org/forms , click on the Adoption Application link and when you have completed the information requested, our volunteer will reach out to you. We do not adopt on a first-come, first serve basis but rather we adopt our cats to their new families according to the best fit for the cat. Again, thank you for your interest.
