Ms. Frick (SLK) 9.17.05 needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping her get a new start?

Because of the difficulty getting appointments to get our rescue cats altered in a timely manner, we recently launched our pre-spay/neuter adoption program. The cat you are interested in may be part of this program and will have at least it’s first FVRCP vaccine, a microchip registered to us and will have been treated for internal and external parasites. Please fill out our screening form and after reviewing and confirming your information, our adoption counselor will reach out to you to explain the process.

UPDATE: Ms. Frick is such a sweet girl. She does very well with wet food by Weruva (Cats in the Kitchen - list will be provided.)  She has been fed three times a day, but this may be adjusted.  She's shy until she feels safe (took her about 1/2 hour in a new environment) and she will flinch at sudden moves or loud noises (sort of typical of cats). In her words:

"I'm still shy, nervous about being approached. I wish I could tell you what happened in my home, but when I feel safe, I will come to you for attention. I will come sleep with you and give you kitty kisses while you pet me.  I don't have a mean bone in my body.  I'm very passive when trimming my back claws - you see, my parents had me declawed, even though I'm sight-impaired. The vet says it's calle Corneal Opacity with no specific cause due to a virus at an early age (when I as a kitten I had a very bad kitty cold which caused this shadow over my eye. I have limited vision but I can still see). There is  one more thing about me.  I do love to chat about everything, so if you love a sweet old lady who likes to chat, I'm your girl.

I was adopted in 2006 with my brother, who has now died. After over 11 years, my parents no longer wanted me because I didn't use my litter box every time.  They said it was behavioral and didn't take me to the vet to be checked.  When Candy's Cats picked me up, they said their 4 month old St. Bernard puppy chased me all the time.  Upon taking me to the vet, I had such a severe infection, they couldn't take x-rays until some of it cleared up.  X-rays have been done and show that I have bladder stones that have to be surgically removed.

Thank you for your interest in one of our adoptable kitties. All of our kitties are fully vetted (age-appropriate vaccines, spayed, tested for feline leukemia and feline aids, and they are microchipped.) They live in private foster homes with their foster families. Our adoption fees are $75 - $125.

In order to match the best home for our foster kitties, we ask folks to complete our adoption application in advance; simply go to www.candyscats.org/forms. You will need to register on our site, then fill out an Adoption Application. We'll review your information and get back in touch with you.

Cats are not adopted first-come, first-served, but rather the best home for the kitty, but we do give consideration to the folks who take the time to fill out the application in advance. Almost all of our volunteers work during the week; to be able to meet one of our cats by appointment during non-adoption days (Saturday, 11 - 4, Sunday 12 - 4), your application needs to be filled out in advance and approved by our adoption coordinator prior to scheduling an appointment to meet with the cats.

Thank you once more for your interest in our wonderful cats; we hope we can find one that is the perfect fit for you and your home.
