Because of the difficulty getting appointments to get our rescue cats altered in a timely manner, we recently launched our pre-spay/neuter adoption program. The cat you are interested in may be part of this program and will have at least it’s first FVRCP vaccine, a microchip registered to us and will have been treated for internal and external parasites. Please fill out our screening form and after reviewing and confirming your information, our adoption counselor will reach out to you to explain the process.

Chidi had a rough start. She was found with her two siblings as a baby and needed a lot of TLC from her fosters to get her well. Early on Chidi was showing signs of having Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH) also known as wobbly kitten syndrome but now we believe she just has ongoing neurological issues. Basically she’s a little clumsy and needs to be supervised if she jumps too high to make sure she can get down safely. She’s not supposed to jump but try to tell her that … she’s at her current foster home hopping in laps and window sills.

She runs, climbs, purrs and cuddles just like any other cat, she just needs a little extra care – like a special litter box (which will be provided with her) that helps her not fall over while she’s doing her business. And full disclosure, she may leave a few solid poops outside the box occasionally, but you won’t care once you meet her and she steals your heart with all her adorable quirks. She loves to take running leaps into your lap, stare at ceiling fans and lights with her eyes wide in curiosity, perch on her hind legs when you take out the wand toys and dart across a room when you toss her favorite spring toy.

She has been in a foster home with a dog and other cats but we think too much stimulation may be why she sometimes poops outside the box. She’s shy when she meets new furry friends and needs time to feel safe with them. She would be best in a home with only a few docile pets and would love to be in a home where she gets a lot of company and attention.

Are you ready to scoop up this soft kitty (she’s really soft!) and take her home? Apply today!

Thank you for your interest in one of our adoptable kitties. All of our kitties are fully vetted (age-appropriate vaccines, spayed, tested for feline leukemia and feline aids, and they are microchipped.) They live in private foster homes with their foster families. Our adoption fees are $75 - $125.

In order to match the best home for our foster kitties, we ask folks to complete our adoption application in advance; simply go to www.candyscats.org/forms. You will need to register on our site, then fill out an Adoption Application. We'll review your information and get back in touch with you.

Cats are not adopted first-come, first-served, but rather the best home for the kitty, but we do give consideration to the folks who take the time to fill out the application in advance. Almost all of our volunteers work during the week; to be able to meet one of our cats by appointment during non-adoption days (Saturday, 11 - 4, Sunday 12 - 4), your application needs to be filled out in advance and approved by our adoption coordinator prior to scheduling an appointment to meet with the cats.

Thank you once more for your interest in our wonderful cats; we hope we can find one that is the perfect fit for you and your home.
